The Bribery Act 2010

There has been an understandable perception of this only affecting large international companies - not so, it affects all of us. 

What is a bribe? It may be corporate hospitality or paying a 'facilitation fee' to get some papers processed for example. Offences include giving or receiving bribes, bribing a foreign official and a new corporate offence of failing to prevent the payment of bribes (even if by an agent working on your behalf).
 
The Ministry of Justice has delayed implementation pending guidance being issued but every indication is that it will be with us soon. To read more click here.
