Government Launches 'Red Tape Challenge' Website
The Government has launched its 'Red Tape Challenge' website, which allows businesses and the public to vote for regulations which they think should be scrapped. This aims to examine over 21,000 statutory rules and regulations currently active in the UK, focusing on regulations that the Government considers place the biggest burdens on businesses and society. The website will operate until April 2013.
Every few weeks the Government will publish the regulations affecting one specific business sector or industry - from retail to hospitality to construction. Once you have had your say, Ministers will have three months to work out which regulations they want to keep and why.
