Allianz Research, who provide economic and strategic advice to Allianz, recently set out to discover the more important factors when buying insurance by commissioning One Poll to survey 500 SME businesses.
The survey highlighted a big change in purchasing decision by SMEs, with breadth of cover now the top priority that SMEs are looking for when they are buying business insurance.
The second most influential factor that is being currently considered by senior decision makers is the claims handling process, with over half of the people surveyed highlighting this as a priority when they are considering their purchase.
The survey also revealed that less than a third of purchasers responsible for sourcing SME business insurance believe that the cheapest price is a priority to them, highlighting the belief that cheapest is not necessarily the best or preferred option. This shows that SMEs value the need for good insurance advice to ensure that their business is protected, and that their risks are managed effectively.
